I was driving to a meeting today. It's warm out. It seems like spring didn't last long enough because once it reaches 80, it's basically summer and too hot.
About an hour into the drive I see the exit approaching and say to my passenger, "hang on, we're taking a detour!"
We had eaten lunch, but there's just something about McDonald's ice cream cones.
So we pulled off the exit and look for the McDonald's. We found it next to its "billions served" sign, in a heap of rubble with a dozer of some sort pushing chunks of it around. I don't think they serve ice cream there.
So we got back on the highway and stopped at the next McD's sign. As we exited, the little sign noted that the McDonald's was 1.3 miles to the right. It was worth it. We turned right and then saw the sign to turn left. We came to another exit for the same highway before we got to the ice cream, so we, again, got back on the highway. At the next exit we decided to try again.
A cone was really worth it to me to try at least a few more times.
Thankfully this McDonald's was not in rubble, was right off the exit, and had bottled water for $1. Which I thought was a bit under the current fast food price, but that's okay.
The cone was wonderful. Worth every extra detour!
